[.TRAVEL] Country Domain Name Policy 6.17.09

Since 2001 country and geographical domain names have come under increasing review and have received heightened interest from governments. In the current review of new top level domain rules such names are again being isolated for special attention and management. From the time of its launch, Tralliance has permitted country names to be registered to private entities provided that a government body with authority in the matter issued a letter of delegation to the private entity. In light of changing international policies, Tralliance will no longer permit the registration of a country name by a non-governmental entity, even by government delegation. This policy takes effect immediately.
