Japan Registry Services Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "JPRS") considers it an important social responsibility to protect personal information appropriately. Taking it into consideration, JPRS carries out protection, management, operation and use of personal information as shown below.
Some individual services and websites (hereinafter referred to as "Each Service") provided by JPRS may have their own conditions as to the handling of the personal information. Compliance with the Laws
JPRS fulfills obligations set forth in the personal information protection laws of Japan, other applicable laws, regulations concerning the protection of personal information and guidelines published by the Japanese governmental authority.
Acquisition of personal information
Apart from the cases defined separately for Each Service, JPRS may acquire personal information in certain circumstances where users utilize services offered by JPRS; JPRS needs to do so to provide its services; and users make various inquiries to JPRS. On such occasions, JPRS acquires personal information in a proper manner and specify the purposes of use as clearly as possible.
Use of personal information
JPRS uses personal information only within the range of the purposes of use which are specified in Each Service related to JPRS's management and administration of .JP domain name, including publication and disclosure of WHOIS data; except in the cases where the prior consent of the data subject person is received, or such information needs to be handled as an exceptional case according to the applicable regulations or laws.
JPRS makes an effort to keep personal information as accurate and up-to-date within the range of the purposes of use, takes necessary measures for safety management, and supervises its employees and the assigned outsourcees.
JPRS will not provide any personal information to the third party without the prior consent of the data subject person, except in the cases where such information is to be handled as an exceptional case according to the applicable regulations or laws, and/or Each Service specifies in advance the possibility of this third-party disclosure.
Help desk
In accordance with laws and regulations, JPRS discloses or corrects retained personal information in response to the request of the data subject person.
JPRS handles claims and complaints made by the data subject person in a prompt and appropriate manner. For this purpose, JPRS establishes the reinforcement of the proper internal structure.
